The ShoreGear-60/12 is designed for mid-sized offices supporting both telephones and analog trunking (i.e. 16 users, 8 analog trunks). In regions where analog trunking is more cost effective than digital trunking, two ShoreGear-60/12 voice switches are a powerful combination (i.e. 2 voice switches providing 32 users, 16 analog trunks).

The ShoreGear-60/12 supports up to 60 IP Phones or up to 12 analog ports - 8 universal telephone / trunk ports and 4 telephone ports. The ShoreGear-60/12 communicates with IP phones, soft phones and other IP endpoints using the Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP). The ShoreGear-60/12 interfaces to standard analog trunks using loop start or wink start signaling as well as to standard analog telephones including CLASS feature phones with Caller ID Name and Number and Message Waiting.
